In 1 Samuel 14 we read a fascinating story of courage, faith and loyalty. Jonathan, King Saul’s son, had grown tired of sitting around and doing nothing about the Philistine (Israel’s enemy) outpost that was nearby. So he got up and said to his armor-bearer, “Come, let’s go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised men. Perhaps the Lord will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few.” Jonathan was ready to take a step of faith and act courageously. Yet, the best part of this story is his armor-bearer’s response: “Do all that you have in mind,” his armor-bearer said. “Go ahead; I am with you heart and soul.” – 1 Samuel 14:7
Every man needs someone like Jonathan’s armor-bearer. Every man needs someone who is with them, heart and soul.
